Tracking magingifers?

Can anyone recommend a good, easy to use one for ds?

He is 9 and has tracking difficulties and has never used one before. As text is becoming smaller/closer together, he is complaining of text moving from side to side, getting bigger and smaller, blurry, headaches, feeling sick etc.

I had a quick google and they are not cheap. Ds has never used one before, so it would be handy if someone could recommend a good, easy to use one.

Also if any of you have dc's who use them, are they worth buying, do they help?

Other recommendations are enlarged text or use of a laptop.

My ds sees the opthalmologists at the hospital and had his magnifier from them.
He was referred there for his eye tests as my optician was unable to accurately test him.
However because they only magnify a small area of text at a time, our Sensory Support Service has recommended that the school enlarge all of his work for him so that he can see the whole sentence etc

Thanks Starfish, ds was originally seen by eye specialist at the hospital where he received his eye disorder dx about 4 years ago. At the time it wasn't really causing him any problems with reading/writing, due to his age. We were just giving eye exercises to do.

She did warn as he progressed through school and text became smaller/closer together he would probably have difficulties and hey presto, here we are. He is struggling to read in school and his handwriting is still really large and he cannot do 'joined up' writing.

I have looked online and seen lots of tracking magnifiers ranging from £20 to £60, round ones, long ones etc, etc.

Tracking magnifiers seem the easiest option to try first. I will see if I can find a longer one that magnify whole sentences.

Thanks
