Does it pass? How quickly did you get over it?

DS1's new nursery have, after less than a week, agreed that he needs an urgent SLT referral. My overwhelming response is guilt. I feel responsible. Feelings definitely compounded by DS2's problems with his teeth which, although a lot less serious (his upper inscisors are crumbling away :(). Feel like I've 'made' them badly through genes, pregnancy, breastfeeding etc.

Humph.

Many of us have gone through feeling guilty. But it serves no purpose. I used to really worry about this - did I cause this, as I was given meds when pregnant with DS1 (before I knew I was pregnant) that are not good to take in pregnancy. But it's not helpful to dwell on it. Hard as it may sound, you have to put that aside, and focus on the present and the future.

Its very common and usually completely unwarranted. DGS was born following a placental abruption and DD feels guilty because 'her body let him down' Sad

Of course it's not true and feeling needless guilt helps no one. It's getting better for her but she did need counselling.

DGS has only four molars btw because of a poorly functioning placenta. So a real gummy lad!

Sorry, I realise that half my OP didn't make sense. I know the guilt isn't very helpful, but I do feel I've let them down.
