Anyone living in the UAE with a child with autism?

I have a friend who has concerns about her dd out there. She is clueless as to where to turn and I wondered if anyone could help? Just some ideas on the steps to take and what the process might be to seek diagnosis?

Thanks Smile

No she's from Pakistan. I found the clinic in Dubai but it apparently has huge waiting lists even for nationals. I am just trying to get a little bit of insight into how the system works out there. Thanks for replying Smile.

I've sent a load of information and book suggestions and some links to UK websites just for general information, I could walk her through the system in the UK with my eyes closed but know nothing about there unfortunately.

No she doesn't, apparently she's stopped speaking, not that she had much speech anyway and doesn't make eye contact. I have family members who put her onto me as I have two dc with autism, I am not even sure they want diagnosis but they do want some idea of how to move forward with it all.

Well she says her medical insurance doesn't cover it, I am sorry I can't give more information but I don't have much myself, will try to find out more tomorrow but thanks so much for replying Smile.
