What?

StarlightMcKingsThree · 07/01/2014 13:33

I mean. What is your sentence supposed to say? Grin

AgnesDiPesto · 07/01/2014 14:45

Looked?
Are the indep supporters paid? Or is the money for recruiting charities to recruit volunteers and train them?

Why don't they just give money to CABs / law advice centres who already have legally trained caseworkers and cut out CDC, recruitment etc
Sounds like one of those scenarios where it costs £3 in admin for every £1 of advice given! There are well trained legal advice workers facing legal aid cuts who could take this on tomorrow rather than recruiting from scratch.

Sorry for typos!

Will try to do link later 1800 supporters seems impressive to me but don't know if these will be on top of existing parental supporters through LA s or instead of. My predictive text is a nightmare it changes things and if I don't notice before posting.....sorry

on top of parent partnership apparently.

2tirednot2fight · 07/01/2014 18:39

Surely that's good news for parents?

I don't think it will do anything for parents except reduce the overall budget for frontline provision for their kids?

At best the scheme is based on assumptions, not evidence, at worst it is a deliberate strategy to head off and divert parents who would otherwise get legal advice or support from a truly independent charity.

2tirednot2fight · 07/01/2014 21:22

Won't those parents still get to that point if they need to starlight? The existing charities supporting legal challenge will still be busy wont they? MG expects the new plans to be judicially reviewed in any event? Isn't it possible that some parents may be spared the agony of having to challenge through a legal route? Maybe I am being naive?

OP posts:
StarlightMcKingsThree · 07/01/2014 21:28

There's nothing wrong with the idea of the plan, just how it is implemented and by whom.

The agency leading on it has a vested interest and a reputation recently for perpetuating Government propaganda without questioning the non-evidence.

2tirednot2fight · 07/01/2014 21:31

I get the point you make Starlight but isn't it a done deal now?

Agnes, you're so right :-(

Maybe CDC will take the cash and turn on their paymasters
