Sensory problems at night re nappies/waterproof sheet

Hi,
My ds,5 still needs a nappy at night, however he has issues with I believe the texture and noise of them ( currently using pull ups). Once you can get it on and him calm with Scooby Doo ( his latest obsession) on he will keep it on, however it has just taken one massive meltdown and 90 mins to achieve this tonight.
He does not tolerate a waterproof sheet at all he just rips it off.
Can anyone recommend a solution please?
Tia

I bought a couple of these when my DCs were small and still have one on their beds. Very soft, brushed cotton yet is 100% waterproof. It completely withstands accidents from my 5 year old and 8 year old and is machine washable too.

We use the 'hippy chick' waterproof mattress protector sheets and then with a normal sheet on top. They are very good as they are soft and not the usual 'crinkly' waterproof texture. Might help?

You can even use it as a normal top sheet, though I use mine as matress protectors Smile.
