Has anyone here bought their tools and manuals and tried them yourself? I am not sure we'll have the ££ to go and see Risca.

She is a SALT with talk tools experience.

Have you been on the ASLTIP website to search for local SALTs? They give a brief description of their areas of expertise so you may find one with TalkTools experience. Also try contacting EG Training who sell TalkTools products in the UK and see if they can recommend anyone.
And lastly, have you asked Risca for advice? She is really nice and helpful and may be able to point you in the direction of someone who can help.

We bought one of those t shaped thinks just to see if it would improve mouth strength, but DGS wouldn't entertain it. His baby brother loved it for a while though!

Dev - yes i know of the one you mention.

Boobybum- yes spoke to her 3 months back. Back then my daughter had just started sound imitation and Risca said leave it a while and see how she gets on.

My daughter is trying hard to copy us(when prompted), but all her sounds seem to get muddled into p,b, s,z,kh, m,n,ae,o... I just wonder if she needs some oral motor strengthening work. We have seen slts in the past. Our current OT also gave us some suggestions.

I am just wondering what else I can do within my limited budget to help her.

I have seen those tubes etc and that is what I worry about - she is unlikely to comply. She won't even let me use an electric brush:(

Other thing playing on my mind is reflex integration. Hemispheres haven't been able to help

Salondon - sounds like she may need some intervention now if the sounds are getting muddled when she tries to imitate. I'll PM you.
