C&P from chat, but hey ho:

OK, so I get to sleep on the sofa tonight, because DD2 can't possibly sleep on her own hmm She does have a fever. She's very worried about Santa not being able to come if she's not asleep. We can't do the stockings until she's in bed because some bright spark (erm me) decided that the stockings would hang on the bannister, and she'll notice if they're full.

But it's all ok, people, because DD2's contribution to all this is to remind me that if you write someone's name part way through a sentence you must still use a capital letter, even though you normally only use capital letters at the beginning of a sentence. Grin

Merry Christmas everyone - it's Christmas Day!!

Merry Christmas to everyone on here. It is because of this group, a whole world opened up to me and I keep on learning. From the comfort of my sofa and with a click, I can read and keep up to date. This is precious and invaluable to any parent of a child with SEN. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My DS has finally gone to bed but I can hear he's still awake and with his ultra sensitive hearing, I can't put the presents nor stockings out yet. I'm exhausted and need my bed!

Have a good day today :-)

PS. I'm in a different time zone to you!

Merry Christmas Everyone.

Kids got up at 9am, yes really. Dinner not yet on table but chocolate keeps us going. Many presents still unwrapped because ds needs regular withdrawal, - snag families passing the window on their Christmas walk and most here still in pjs, but I have sherry right?

Merry Christmas to you all, however you do it,

Xxx

Christmas dinner over! I didn't forget anything this year but the gravy took ages so I had to quickly whizz each plateful in the microwave. I loved it, but the kids were 'meh.' They'd rather have a pizza. Dishwasher on, fire burning, cider drunk, chocolates to hand and The Dark Knight in the DVD player. Bliss.

The boys have had a pyjama day, Starlight!

They were up at 5am. They're normally up at 5am, but I don't normally get up with them all. Went back to bed for an hour at 8, as I was aching and needed to lie flat for a bit.

Lunch went down well. I wisely hacked a huge chunk off my salmon and shoved it in the freezer before cooking the rest because there's loads left. Looking forward to some yummy sandwiches!

Merry Christmas to you all. Ds1 has had his best Christmas yet! No meltdowns and he liked opening presents which is a first (he's 5 1/2). He had regular withdrawals upstairs for time alone and actually liked some of his presents (the soft toy ones as he makes a nest in soft toys on his bed for sleeping).

He's now on his tablet (not a Christmas present) flapping away so I know he's happy. Dh just asked if he's enjoyed today. The response was "what's today?" Dh then asked if he liked his prezzies from Santa and got "not prezzies, presents" as the response, made me Xmas Grin.

I am glad we're on the final stretch. Dc still have quite a few presents to open and they've been the cause of major meltdowns for ds - he had to be taken for several chill outs yesterday and it was just us at home. He couldn't cope with the change to routine (no preschool) and the array of choice in front of him.

Any tips for next year? Other than giving all our friends and family a list and saying choose ONE thing rather than wrapping several.

theDudesmummy · 27/12/2013 10:54

Had a surprisingly good time: although DS did not know it was Christmas as such he, for the first time, noticed the presents (when they were put in front of him and pointed out to him) and actually took the paper off them. He also actually sat and ate with us for at least twenty minutes!

Best present: amid loads of expensive and shiny wonderful things: a £6 "London Bus" magazine! Huge hit, he even had to take it to bed with him and has barely put it down since! (And I only saw it by chance as I was shopping for other things!).
