I have heard they are a big no no to ABA atleast. All second hand info.

Thanks, it's so difficult to joggle everything together, work, typical kids and their schools, SN..

Inclusion to the detriment of the individual child quite often. It's a real anti SS political dogma there (my Mum taught in Newham before her retirement).

IF your child is one that can cope with mainstream support then they are fantastic but they refuse to accept that there is a minority of kids who can't iyswim. Some schools at secondary like Langdan are just too huge, (but that's becoming a problem everywhere in London really).

In Newham's favour they will fund things properly for mainstream. Mum taught several kids who had 2 full time TAs (2:1 at all times). You'll have less funding arguments with them over the price of a bit a photocopying than elsewhere. They are also well-intentioned which cannot be said for all LA staff.

The discovery centre on Stratford high st has a fantastic saturday morning club. The perfect place to meet other local Mums and get the real lowdown iykwim. The staff there are fantastic so your child will have a great time no matter what the disability and best of all it is free! I highly rec' you pop along in the new year as other Mums are often the best source of the truth iykwim.

Bochead, thanks thas is so helpful.
I don't know what to do.

Have an offer of a house swap, lovely street, bigger house, we would actually see my husband who commutes now long hours.

We are in Essex, been through hell here, but - in the middle of statemnting process for ds who starts Reception in 2014. Fighting for amazing SS that caters for moderate LD until 18 years of age...

7 years old NT girl, happy at current school, 13 years old NT ds in very good secondary.

We used to live in London and I miss it..

Wish I had a crystal ball...
