God I LOVE it!
Am ordering as we speak.
I actually thought you were linking to the Christmas gift reading list suggested by the fabulous Theresa of TAGteach.
Every single one of these books will be brilliant and so useful to anyone wanting to help their child learn new things in a fun way. I have read about half of them and will be devouring the other half very soon.

I would go to these people before almost any Special Needs 'expert' practicing in the UK today

Talking of stocking fillers, I continue to be in lurve with our story cubes 6 months on.

www.amazon.co.uk/The-Creativity-Hub-Rorys-Story/dp/B003NFJMBM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1386540346&sr=8-1&keywords=story+cubes

I call em the ijeets guide to language therapy ; )

(Get 2 or 3 kids to work together and it's a goldmine! They don't have to be the same age or ability or anything. Also useful for helping odd/plumb dumb relatives interact with your kid and feel useful instead of making stupid comments that cause a melt down just as you are taking dinner out of the oven).

Thanks Boch. I was meaning to get some. Perfect for Christmas.
I'd been putting it off because my ds seems so very far behind, but since getting my arse back in gear and doing some work with him I remember how quickly he learns and importantly how quickly he will HAVE to learn.

Yet another change to his schooling on the horizon, though can't put on here.

Great you are tempted by the clicking chicken Moondog, though seriously doubt the RRP was £33. (Great Christmas items for your close work colleagues? Grin)

Star, I got these today and not only are they gorgeous but there are six to a box so about a quid each. A beautiful little wooden chicken that, when you press it, clicks (or rather, clucks).
Busy wrapping them as presents for all the staff and kids who are busy with TAGteach. They will LOVE them!!

StarlightMcKenzie · 10/12/2013 16:25

6?

Hooray!! Grin

You gonna buy the whole stock? There are blue birds as well on that site btw (the site actually has lots of other interesting things - no I don't work for them).

You should alert Bluebird herself to them!
Yes, gorgeous toys in an organic, wooden school of the forest sort of way which is just my style, old hippy that I am.

I snapped up some Story Cubes too Boc on Amazon, as I have been meaning to for a while since you posted about them before. They look great.

bochead · 10/12/2013 19:15

Would welcome any ideas you have for using the story cubes Moondog.

Star - that site had some lovely, lovely items for my nephew and niece so thank you. It's getting harder and harder to find proper wooden toys that will last as opposed to plastic tat at reasonable prices, so I'll be passing this on others.

Will report back after I have done some fieldwork. Smile
