If, like me, you don't have a clue about all the different support plans, are sick of having NO support whatsoever for your ASN/SEN child, despite them obviously needing it and/or having a diagnosis, and your child's school insists on treating them no differently to an NT child - this guide will be invaluable.
The majority of the threads on this section relate to other parts of the UK discussing SENCO and Statements etc, which we do not have in Scotland. So it's very easy to get confused, as a Scottish parent and feel as though you don't know where to look for accurate advice.
Enquire is a Scottish Service, and their guide is wonderful. It goes in to a lot of detail without being overwhelming. I've just read it through in 30 minutes.

Apparently all children with ASN are entitled to a PLP. This is a very basic level of support, but something that should be devised nonetheless and reviewed and revised regularly.
My HFA daughter currently receives no additional support whatsoever, and is struggling socially. The school told me last year they do not feel that a support plan was needed. I meekly and foolishly accepted their decision because i didn't know any better. I didn't know it was my dd's right to have one. Now i do.
Sorry if this sounds patronising, and there are loads of Scottish parents/carers who are already aware of their children's rights. But through experience, i know that a lot of people up here don't.
