ds2 is 14 has aspergers and is at high school , some will be familiar with the nightmare we seem to be having with school but getting him to even go in is hard to say the least.

everyone has a homework diary to record their homework in which is then signed each week by the teacher and the parent .

ds2 hasnt written his homework in it more than a handful of times for at least a year and a half . I have let this happen as homework is one of the battles i have chose not to fight , preferring to just try to get him into school at all .

I have wondered why but not been surprised that his form teacher hasnt acknowledged that this has been happening ( she is so dippy she cannot even mark the register correctly , hence why ds2 ended up in the park all day )
she often doesnt sign the diary for weeks and then signs about 4 weeks all at the same time .

ds2 has come home tonight and he has had a detention, because I hadnt signed the diary last week !
He has also had no lunch because by the time he had completed the detention there were no panninis left and that is the only thing he will eat at school .

This woman just does not get it . and once again i am very Angry
this same thing happened last year and i wrote a comment in the diary about it . What do i say to this woman ? she clearly doesnt understand that some people have hidden disabilities .

The form teacher sounds a nightmare. Do you think she'd take more notice of information from a more 'official' source?

The NAS has a school's guide to Asperger's syndrome here, which I've found useful with DS's school.

yes , she is a nightmare ! marking him present whilst he wasnt there and then later changing it to absent without telling anyone was a corker !
thanks for the link Smile
