Dx of asperger

I was dx with aspergers today. After some tests and chats with psychologists. I left the room for 15 mins came back and told me the news. They said some lovely things, aknowledging how I cope etc, and I burst into tears, relief rather than distort. Then the help they could offer. Well as useful as the support that ds (8) is having, his HFA, so not much, a group drop in centre on Friday afternoons! But still glad I have done it, it's aknowledge now not just in my head.

Wow, that is huge news Spiraling. I'm sure it will take a while for you to process it all. Sounds very very positive though. My son has aspergers, and we think my dh probably does too. He's never talked about getting a diagnosis, but I wonder sometimes if it would be useful... We are quite up front about explaining to our son that Dad's brain works in the same way as his, and I'm sure that can only be a good thing. Probably for both of them.

Well done on getting that. I think I'm quite boarder line asd but no enough. I keep wondering if I should get my dyslexia diagnosed now. Not sure why I don't. I have coped so long with hiding it. Would be nice to hide it no more!
