Just that really, I sent pack off last week and had a text yesterday to confirm they had got it, unfortunately I also had a missed call from number unknown around same time as text so hoping I didn't miss a call from them. Anyone applied recently and had quick turnaround? Thanks

They got forms 30th October, got letter awarding it 16th November, first payment went in 15th November.

Wow that's good! Hope mine is as quick even if they decline. It's the waiting that frustrates me. Claiming for dd1 who has ADHD, never claimed for her when she was younger as didn't think she would get it

They got the form on 11th October, award letter date of 17th October.

I had supplied her Annual Review paperwork and an old letter which stated her diagnosis.

Stressedtothehilt · 26/11/2013 10:21

Wow logule that's fab! I've enclosed dad's diagnosis letter and all subsequent letters so fingers crossed! Didn't out school details down though as enclosed a report from school and I'm already having a raff with the school at present with dd2

My daughters renewal has just taken less than two weeks.

pannetone · 26/11/2013 16:58

Please allow me a rant, although it won't be what you want to hear stressed.Angry

I applied for DLA for DS3 (HFA -then undiagnosed- and anxiety) back in June 2012. In August it was refused. I asked for reconsideration. Refused in October. I said I wanted to appeal. In late November DS3 got his diagnosis - phoned DLA and then sent in diagnostic report in December. A month later I was told it had been considered, but my claim was going to appeal. I submitted my tribunal appeal papers in Feb this year. I was told it was a 12-14 week wait for a hearing date. 9 months, and many chasing phone calls later, I am still waiting for a hearing date....

Each time I ring I am told that the 'average wait time' has increased - though even then I have been waiting for much longer than the new 'wait time'! In September I was told that I would get a hearing in December - I haven't got a date yet....

Looking for a 'bright side' - if I do get DLA there is going to be a hefty amount of 'back pay'!

Stressedtothehilt · 26/11/2013 17:05

Oh god panne thats awful!

I also applied for DLA for DD at the same time - got that about 6 weeks after the form went in. (DD is also HFA - then undiagnosed- but did have a selective mutism diagnosis). At the rate DS's claim is going, it will be time to do the renewal for DD (she was awarded for 2 years) bfore DS's claim is even decided!

Stressedtothehilt · 26/11/2013 18:56

Well good luck panne I do hope they cave in before it goes to tribunal!

Sorry to hear that panne.
Mine was very quick turnaround. I got a text 2 days after they received it saying Dla had been awarded. Then about a week later a letter saying forms had been received but as soon as i got the text I called the following day to check and was told rates over phone. Letter confirmations took ages, money was in account pretty quick too. Good luck.

Skylar123 · 26/11/2013 18:57

They didn't contact pead or school so think that made it a much quicker operation.

Skylar123 · 26/11/2013 18:58

Paed not pead ...sorry

Weegiemum · 26/11/2013 18:59

I got my DLA after 4 weeks. I had a diagnosis then.

Was hard - yay for DLA but how fucked was I that I got an indefinite award.

Skylar123 · 26/11/2013 19:02

My Ds award is till end of 2015 . 3 yrs in total. Have to go through it all again one day. Very hard forms to fill out and really brings it all home.
You can ring them if you are anxious to know they will tell I when it's going to be looked at or what they are waiting on

Stressedtothehilt · 26/11/2013 19:22

Thanks skylar I will give it til the end of the week. Didn't realise they text you to say if it's awarded or no that's good

My dd's took three weeks last June she didn't have a diagnosis at the time.

lougle · 29/11/2013 22:13

The awards do get longer, I find.

DD1 had a 2 year award when she was just 3, then a 3 year award when she was just 5, then an 8½ year award which will kick in at just 8, taking
her up to the transition to adult DLA/PIP.

Livesforbedtime · 29/11/2013 22:25

My ds got a 10 year award aged 6! Never knew that was rare tbh!

lougle · 29/11/2013 22:40

It all depends what the evidence points to in terms of 'recovery'.

DD1, at 3, only had evidence of needing 1:1 support at preschool and having epilepsy.

Once she was 5 she had had a slightly dodgy MRI and awarded a place at special school.

Now, at 8, it's fairly obvious that she's never going to be completely independent of support in some way.

Stressedtothehilt · 30/11/2013 17:16

Well quickest ive ever had! Text on 25th to say they received form and text today to say awarded
