Supportive boots for hypermobile toddler

Ds has just been confirmed hypermobile and needs supportive boots to stop him rolling his ankles and falling over. Paediatrician did not recommend any particular source. Can anyone recommend a good brand available online or a shop in London that could help?

You could try Kickers? Quite a few people use their for hypermobile DC although we found for DD who is (low tone and hypermobile) that they are quite stiff in the sole.

Babybotte shoes were great for DD when she first started walking - very supportive and well made

Startrite are generally better for ankle support than Clarks. DD now wears Startrite and they do seem to help with her stability and balance. It seems a bit easier to find supportive shoe styles for boys than it is for girls - shoe shopping with a fashion conscious, hypermobile 6 yr old girl is the bane of my life!

Piedro stability boots from Gilbert and mellish are the best. Expensive but superb support. The NHS pays for ours.

Thank you so much for the recommendations, I will check them out.

Looks like ds is going to have a rather expensive shoe collection!

Especially at the rate his feet are growing

Smile unfortunately shoes are our biggest expense for dd and always have been. I spend more on her shoes than I ever would on my own Shock

You could ask about piedros if you have a physio? We were never offered them although you can but try!

There is a great shop in Peterborough called Zebedees that fitted my DD. She was too small for normal boots (eg startrite) but they had a great range. They are very used to hypermobility and even if it's too far to travel they might be able to tell you what ranges they recommend.

We trekked around a huge shopping centre trying to buy kickers for DS who has hypermobile ankles. Ended up in clarks and bought these

V pleased with them.
