No but they are giving a talk near me soon. It sounds like they have been surrounded by controversy. Eh went into administration and claimed to offer cures. I have been told they are worth considering for dyspraxic kids who don't qualify for ot

But of course there are no cures hence a lot of the controversy

thanks for this 2boys - from the website seems more for dyslexic/dyspraxic than other issues.

Yes I have been told it started off to help dyslexics but then the exercises fitted dyspraxia better. My son has dyspraxia but he has had excellent ot which is not offered in all counties. I think from what I have heard its worth looking at if you remember there is no cure - only improvements can be made. Also if your willing to pay the price. We see what they have to say pretty soon

TBH, I wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

StUmbrageinSkelt · 13/11/2013 00:42

No way. I am surprised they are still operating. Their program here was expensive and aggressively marketed and ineffective.

I think they took £2000 off some people and went bust the next day? People lost that money?

You would also need to think about how much private ot was compared to their price.

KosmoKramer · 13/11/2013 07:42

Yes, the Melbourne Dore programme went bust. I had to deal with several families who had lost thousands.

I've see now online that they went into receivership in 2008 - their website is up and running so assuming that they are operating again. Some of the coverage at the time goes on about "bad science" etc but also a lot of people v impressed with how their children were helped.....Thanks everyone for info - maybe give a miss this time.

No don't use per Susan Barton; International Dyslexia Expert

nostoppingme · 14/11/2013 06:48

as per

My family have positive experience of using DORE for GDD with my niece.

It made a difference and they were happy.

What I dont know is why they went that way specifically, if it was recomended, or if private OT would have recomended the same sort of exercises to improve balance and body awareness.

research and see what they can offer, what basis they have for showing their techniques work etc.

OP who recomended it to you?
