I am a regular (very much) but don't want to out myself to LA

Am asking upper tribunal to permit appeal re our tribunal, it was a bit like Star's first one. Judge who reviewed decision disnt seem ti have read what i write. Wanted specific barrister, found brill one at hardwickes, but now can't get him as he's busy. Just as well really as we would gave really struggled witb the bill- we spent more than we had on the first tier tribunal despite no lawyer. But... too late Not ready to quit yet though. Bought amazing law book & will try last ditch DIY job.

So (sorry long screed) anyone been to upper tribunal? And if I tell you who I really am, any chance at all of seeing your statement of reasons? Cos I need to cobble it together so it isn't set out all wrong.

I'm so sorry. I survived and you will and though the anger may stay with you for life you'll find a way to make things acceptable.

Given I have no idea who you are, it is worth pointing out that if your child is under 5 you'll get an annual review then, and an appeal then with evidence of failure might give you a stronger case and a faster and cheaper path to adequate provision.

Have you tried DL at Hardwicke? I think he does direct access and has a good track record with appeals

CloakAndDagger2 · 09/11/2013 11:46

Yep, DL is the busy one, who I was hoping for. Practice manager suggested use
one of their very good juniors but she doesn't seem to have done UT (and education is one of many areas she does)

Star, still fighting for the statement as i was when we met in RL, boch's carrot was very prominently there Grin Like the new name? (Twirls cloak and flashes ornamental dagger)

Was the tribunal for contents or SA?

CloakAndDagger2 · 10/11/2013 02:10

neither: got NIL

Though I've now bought an amazing book that summarises tribunal law very clearly.

And it's paperback so you can (just about) read it on the bus. Best £50 I've spent in a very long time...

This seems to be a bit of an issue now with FTT Judges not paying a blind bit of interest in what the parent is saying.

Do any parents actually get permission/ a positive outcome at FTT review stage?

I think there's a run on NILs in my anetdotal experience - to give LAs breathing space perhaps!?

I think it is because there has also been a run on appeals and SENDIST does not want to award a higher percentage of statements this of all years.
