they go on about pets and elderly but no one thinks of sn children (or anyone sensitive to noise).

FW tonight worse than last night. living in a built up area.

FFS go to a bloody organised display in a park, theres one just down he road.

nooooo. bang and whizz shit into other poeples gardens.

and not even one day either, been goingon all week and ill prob go on next week to.

DC will not be going to school tomorrow as shes been a wreck all weekend and is exhaustd from lack of sleep and meltdowns.

even muffler earphones don't take the noise away, shes sitting here literally under my legs. ive got cartoons on fro her to concentrate on but she cant calm down. shes just had warm milk to calm her but nothing.

not in a built up back to back garden area.

what hAPPEnedto a few sparklers and quiet fws?

theres a sn child down the roadtoo and I canonly imagine theyre doing the same as mine.

luckily DC was at grans but she was supposed to have school so is back here. thought they wouldn't be bad tonight with school starting tomorrow again?

seriously, sounds like we're in a war zone.

Brew and a Wine for parents, and a Cake for the kids!

its just either pure ignorance or anti-social. im inclined to go with the latter!

no one even has the courtesy to either come and warn or pop a note in doors. same with loud parties and bbqs.

DD was in meltdown yesterday too. covering her ears and literally shaking and clinging to me Sad

today is a bit better (but also fewer fireworks)

strange thing is, I remember I taking a walk with her two years ago during bonfire night as she liked them so much. last year we looked out of the window to see the fireworks.

no idea why it is suddenly such a problem for her.

BurlyShassey · 03/11/2013 20:43

no good sending her to bed now. how are kids going to make it to school awake??????

choc mine likes the 'look' of the fws its the noise that scares her. and me!

dreading new years! well have to stay at my parents. wish we could live there, its so quiet where they live.

The arseholes next door decided to have a fireworks party in their garden - about 8 feet from my living room.

First I knew about it was a loud crackling noise then whooosh and bang!

Kittens leapt into the air and behind the settee. The rabbits were probably scared stiff in their hutch by the noise and lights.

They know I have animals. A bit of warning would have been appreciated.

They don't even have kids - arseholes Angry

My son [ASD] was always terrified of noise and especially loud bangs it was terrifying for him. But we found a solution that worked for us and cost about 8 quid. Ear defenders from homebase /b&q amazon etc. the type road workers use, my son keeps them on almost permanently. They have made him so much more comfortable and happier. He has them in different colours and everyone thinks he's just listening to music. Best money i have ever spent! Smile

caketinrosie · 04/11/2013 01:39

Those swimming earplugs are good too if your kids will tolerate them:-)

Burley

I would urge you to talk to the council's environmental health dept.

I have some experience of fireworks being let off at 2am (I double checked the time) and I complained (the noise likely woke most of the estate up) to Environmental Health. My complaint was investigated by them. It turned out that some idiots set off some fireworks in the car park of the local health club course post party. The health club was spoken to about the actions of their patrons. This has not happened since!.

The Fireworks Regulations 2004 prohibit anyone under 18 from possessing fireworks, and anyone except professionals from possessing display fireworks. These regulations also prohibit the use of fireworks at night (11 pm – 7 am) in England and Wales, with extensions for the following festivals:
•Until 1 am on the night of Chinese New Year
•Until 1 am on the night of Diwali
•until 1 am on New Year's Eve
•Until midnight on 5th November.

These regulations are enforced by the police. Penalty for breach of curfew is up to £5000 fine or six months imprisonment.

last night was Diwali wasn't it? we had them till 1am and then a few afterwards.

DC in with me in bed, we are both grumpy today from lack of sleep and on top of that her medical problems!!

we have an appointment at CAMHS tomorrow so Ill mention all this. (don't know wat they can do, Diwali is allowed) but therll be fw tomorrow too.

and someones letting them off since 6 this evening AND STILL GOING ON.

wish I could find out where theyre coming from and take DC there and show them what theyre doing to her, same with all pet owners etc!!!!!

Atilla unfortunately. irresponsible people buy them for under 18s (same as they'll get booze and cigs for them) and its normally them that a the worst with them, throwing them and stuff.

im surprised there aren't more accidents and burns from this carelessness.

and families aren't professional owners. bit stupid the regulations really aren't they?

thx for posting that though, didn't know there were rules aboutthem. will give me some ammo when I phone env health a 1 am again!!!!
