Has anyone used her? What was your experience? Does she still do a clinic in Lee? Thank you so much. I'm on the search for a really excellent speech therapist in the SE.

I used her a few years ago for an independent report for our tribunal. We were asking for ABA-type support in school, and went to her as she is very knowledgable and positive about how an ABA approach can be used successfully with S&L and social interaction/communication targets.

She was great - really on the ball, quick to grasp ds's more subtle impairments (which the LA SLT hadn't or at least hadn't been willing to publicly admit) in social communication and pragmatic understanding. Not cheap, iirc it was around £400, but worth it, for a really detailed report.

I didn't know she had a clinic in Lee, we saw her at the London Children's Centre in town (Harley St I think, or nearby).

Would recommend her, especially if you're in a similar situation to ours.

We're not in that position yet. Our 2 yr ds is not saying anything yet and we want to get some advice. I'm sure something is wrong as he doesn't make many sounds.

She's spot on with her observations, and tells it like it is.

When I saw her, the report had me in tears as she confirmed my deepest fears at a time when the local LA bods were all saying "all is fine in the land of DS".

The advice she gave made a significant difference to the quality of DS's life so she's down as one of life's "good uns" in my book. Oh and if it helps the Tribunal took her advice seriously too.

Thank you bochead. I know - in some ways I can't wait to see her, but I'm also dreading her telling me something awful. Did she do yr therapy? Did it make a difference? Thanks for replying.

She was flipping amazing for us, but doesn't work at Lee (Riverston School - which is relatively near our home). So we travelled up to her clinic near Bond Street. She did assessments, then we saw her once a week and she showed us what to do at home in between. My DS was 2.3 at the time and had only 10 words. We did 'games' after every meal (SALT exercises) and it really worked. She was amazing. We then moved on to use other members of her team and again replicated everything she showed us at home. It was entirely manageable and I can't recommend her enough. Now 3 years on, DS still has communication issues, but amazingly he is scoring 63 percentile on vocab (ok, he's under 5 for syntax, semantics, pragmatics etc...). PM me if you want to know more.

She is quite simply amazing and I have been recommending her endlessly. She has been working with our DC for a year (dyspraxic traits, speech delay, resolved now) and has made am amazing difference to us. Wholeheartedly recommend.

Thank you so much for your replies - I have an appointment and I can't wait to see her and get some help. It's so good to hear that your dc have made such good progress.

Paribus - I suspect similar sorts of things are going on with my ds. He is 2 with only a couple of words and doesn't make many sounds.
