Sam has a DX, HFA. . She discounted the school reports because they contradicted themselves (again - bloody idiots) and as Sam has been losing ground fast has decided not to wait for the Ed Psych report, or Speech Therapy, and just to DX him. Wow. Don't now if or but relieved and shaking.

Stupid school though.

She si going to write to the school and the LEA, and asked us to apply to the dreaded DLA.

In 90 minutes I have ds3's progress assessment (hearing). Got to get my head straight now.

I can understand your mixed feelings about the dx.
Good luck with the hearing Peachy.

School didn't seem best impressed- 'WE didn't organise this!'

Er no

Dh now paranoid that school can appeal this, even though we have a full, written DX. Can they?

the school cant over ride a paed, dont worry. what about moving schools? is that an option>? from what i ahve read the school is as useful as a chocolate teapot.

WellKnownMemorablePeachyClair · 03/07/2006 17:07

A chocolate teapot would at least aste nice Misdee! Moving schools isn't a practical loption, and Dh isn't up for it, but if try ahything I am taking him out anyway.

DS3 just failed his hearing and developmental, referred to speecha nd audiology- here we go again! off the waiting lists for oooh, 2 hours! LOL

I'd be pretty shocked if the school went against the paed diagnosis, I hope now you've got that all important diagnosis the school will take your concerns more seriously.
Sorry to hear about your ds3's hearing assessment though

WellKnownMemorablePeachyClair · 03/07/2006 20:12

I think DS3 will be oK, TBH, HV was 'well you've got one in the family, maybe another?' which was hardly subtle hours after dx! We have to see her next week for a full check; she ke[t saying if you ahd lived here last year he'd have been checked. Um, we di. Best not to mention it tho eh? LOL

Peachy, glad for you that the wait is over for Sam,s dx, you have been through the mill and i hope for all your sake that school wont kick up a fuss.

I dont think they can override the paed,s dx, do you think that they will try to?

HUGS

Probably paranoid- will take a while to get used to this LOL!

Just looked at the NAs DLA info, and Sam qualifies quite definitely for middle rate DLA - because of his violence he needs constant care and supervision. Didn't expect that!

When is your metting Jenk? Will send over some luck!
