Sensory musical garden equipment

This year I'm trying to make home a haven for DS who has asd. Smile

I'm in the process of putting together a sensory wall in our living room and that's going well.

My next project will be to make our garden more of a sensory area. I've looked at the musical instruments you can get for sensory gardens like large xylophones and drums but they are SOO expensive! Why are they so bloody costly?? DS would love them. Has anyone seen any that are actually reasonably priced?

I do have neighbours but we are the quiet ones even with DS! Grin You make a good point though, maybe they are not a wise idea. :-/

Yes I've looked at lots of good ideas like planting lavendar, mint, thyme, etc; rainbow coloured windmills and socks; step stones; etc. Am a bit wary of adding any sort of water feature but may add a water play table.
Any other ideas welcome.

I would love to make a willow den but I think they take time to establish so would be a long term project.

If you want something musical, these are nice.

I am sure you can find one less expensive than this, though...
