He has improved loads, but will continue going to the language unit in school for at least another 12 months.
He will start recieving one to one, doing an exercise programme to improve his motor skills.

A couple of other areas they will start with, helping him to understand his and other peoples feeling, and understanding the concept of time.

And the worst is, as I have suspected for a while, is to ask gp for a c.i.t scan, as school think petit mal may be the reason for his wetting accidents.

Still waiting to see his Paedatrician who returned from Mat leave in Jan, despite 2 letters being sent from the school and Hv chasing the appointment twice.

hi.

It sounds like the extra support and intervention programmes your son is going to recieve at school are a wonderful oportunity for him to continue to improve over the next year.

Whats a CIT scan? is it like an EEG? I ho[e they can find a cause if your son is having petit mals, often theres medication that can be prescibed to control it.

Have you canosidered explosive suppositries for teh pead? shoot her into action, or orbit...

Can't offer you pity though!, sympathy and crossed fingers a huge hope for the best and all that but no pity

take care

Oh I think I mean a EEG scan, if thats the one where they glue all the wires to the patients head.

Yes the extra support from school is wonderful, it is a fantastic school for SN.

Pity was probably a bad choice of words, was just trying to lighten the mood

Does anyone know how long an EEG scan takes, and are the results instant?

I think there are various types, e.g. several hours during sleep, less time awake.... but I can't remember! sorry. I suspect that an experienced technician would have a a pretty good idea if there is something very noticeable but they are unlikely to tell you and you'd have to wait to see Dr/Consultant for results.

Thanks Davros
Another question, I have'nt been to the gp yet, can they be awkward about refering him for a scan (nhs costs and all that) or will I not have much of a problem?
