Okay, it took me half a second to work out that this is your daughter in the news article.

It's a shocking story, and I'm so sorry.

I'm uneasy on your behalf though being so easily identifiable on a public forum. Obviously you're happy to have some of your battles in the public domain, given the article so perhaps my worries are unfounded!?

If you change your mind, you need to click the report button above the post and ask MNHQ to anonymise/delete.

Utterly disgusted on your behalf.

Do pop over to the home education board though. There's a wealth of info on great home ed resources etc over there.

The least the council can do is provide you with a laptop/free internet connection, plus any hard copy text books etc you need to teach her at home which they get their heads outta their a%&%s. Oh and if she needs any sort of assistive technology from a sloping desk to text-to speak software - make sure you demand that too!

Have you requested a home tutor yet? In your shoes I would. If they can't teach her in school, then they need to be sending a teacher to your home! If children that have been excluded for being naughty are entitled to this service after 5 days, then your child who is being denied access to school through no fault of her own is entitled to no less, as a minimum.

Good on you for making this shoddy treatment public. The authorities get away with poor treatment of our kids only because our voices are not heard as so many of us are scared to complain.
