DD1 (7.9) was picked up from KIDS. DD2 (6.1) and DD3 (4.5) are not impressed because they think DD1 should walk home (from 10 miles away) as they are tired.

DD1: Anyway, I gotted bouncy ball.
DD3: DD1 is always getting lovely things at school.
DD2: We do like bouncy balls as well you know. Why did you get a bouncy ball, hey, hey?
DD1: Step one, I gotted a dip in treasure box....
DD3: Stop Step oneing DD1!
DD1: Step two, I gotted 10 counters for dip in treasure box....
Me: Oh DD1-long-name, did you really have to mention the bouncy ball? Why did you do that?
DD1: because I can't keep my mouth shut...
DD2: Do you need me to get some really sticky tape off and stick it over your mouth so you can't speak?

I wonder how I'm still sane....

LOL..I love the fact the other 2 think she should walk back!

StarlightMcKenzie · 25/09/2013 21:04

I LOVE 'Stop Step-Oneing' and am going to add it to my own personal dictionary and use it at random times!

Wednesday evenings are my nemesis - Middle of the week, younger two are tired and DD1 is wired from being allowed to do whatever she wants at KIDS. I can't even rely on being able to get her to bed straight away, because I can't decide if she needs dinner until I pick her up. Their 'snacks' vary from 'a slice of toast' to 'a biscuit with raisins' to (tonight) 'spaghetti bolognaise with garlic bread' or 'pizza'.

Star, if you add it to your dictionary, you have to do a 4-going-on-13 roll of your eyes as you say it.

Did she get the stepping from Special Agent Oso?

It sounds very familiar Smile

lougle · 25/09/2013 22:45

Ahhh probably, WandaDoff! It's always from something or other.

DD3 was incensed that her school bus couldn't bring her home. She was most put out when I said that the escort/driver don't work at that time in the evening.

On Sunday, DD2 came in from the garden and said:

'Mum, do we have a frog book?'

Why?

'Well DD3 has found a frog but I need to know what's inside it's head and it's tummy but I can't see inside it.'

So, I printed her a child-friendly 'anatomy of a frog' diagram.

Then, she came in 30 minutes later:

'Mum, do we have a chicken book?'

Why?

'Well I need to see inside the head and the tummy of the chickens but their feathers are in the way....'

Grin So I printed her an anatomy of the chicken diagram.

Where did I get this child?

At least she didn't try dissecting them Grin

Over dinner tonight ds1 (7) asked me to explain, in detail, all of the following;

hurricane formation and size
tornadoes, where they occur and why they have lightening
what causes earthquakes, which led to a discussion of tectonic plates
what was the biggest dinosaur ever (had to google pictures for him)
what types of dinosaurs lived in ireland

We only had a bowl of pasta, I still don't know how he fit all that in!

dd's (8) contribution to the conversation was 'Why did dinosaurs have to be alive?' ConfusedHmmShock

dd2 had an 'incident' at school today. At lunchtime she was stressed as she didn't know where to sit. Eventually she chose to sit with some girls, who were nearly finished eating. As she went to sit down one of the girls said, 'we're nearly finished, sorry'. dd2, interpreting 'sorry' in a literal way (you say it when you've done something wrong, innit?) declared, quite disgruntled, in view of lack of wrongdoing (and probably with her wide eyes and stiff body, I can just see it): '...apology NOT accepted!!' Which led to some bemusement tipping poor dd2 over the edge (dd2 was rescued by her older sister, heaven knows where the adults were at this point.)
Hmm
Literal thinkers, eh

lougle · 26/09/2013 06:43

Poor dd2! I did giggle though.
