dla been downgraded to lower rate mobility. Should we bother applying for blue badge or will we have no chance?

My daughter has always received the lower rate of mobility and we have one. Our GP has to fill in a section on the form confirming her needs, I think it is more straight forward with HRM but definitely go for it!

Maybe appeal your DLA decision too if you think it's not correct?

I think it depends how strictly your LA is interpreting the governmental guidelines.

where I live, everybody with LRM seems to struggle even if they had it in the past Sad.

depending on your child's needs, it my be the easier option to pursue HRM instead. .

Thanks for replies. His mobility isn't that bad but tires easily and no road sense so don't think decision to downgrade that unreasonable comparatively but would be helpful to have badge.might try and see what happens.

My ds had a blue badge before he got high rate so I would say worth a try too.

If I remember right from last time we applied getting hrm was one of the passports to getting a blue badge without further assessment, but if you didn't get that you could still apply but you needed a letter from your GP saying why it was necessary. Obviously every LA has their own guidelines so you'd have to check these, but as far as I'm concerned you have nothing to lose by applying.
