-Stopping to tilt his head sideways, grimace slightly and look out of the corner of his eye. Some days he doesn't do it at all, other days almost constantly.

  • Wanting to run alongside flat vertical surfaces (fences, shop windows etc), looking at them as he goes. Often stopping to put his face against the surface.

BUT

Had had an eye test showing no issues, and been seen by a community paed who said no red flags for ASD -

What could be going on?

Could the head tilting and grimacing be tics?

It does sound quite sensory. Lots of people have sensory issues without having ASD.

The M-CHAT has come back as within the normal range.

The ASD concerns came about because at the time of referral he was also very keen on spinning objects, but this has faded and his play is much more rounded. He was also a late talker (no words until 2 but fine now).

Today he did the eye thing so many times I lost count. 50+ times. Other parents in the toddler group were staring.

Paed did ? Absence seizures, but if you put your hand in front of his eyes while he's grimacing, he notices so it's not that.

I find myself getting quite stressed about it.
