How should I deal with this?

Ds is 10 and just gone into year 6....He's been under assessment for numerous years now (haven't we all!!!). Anyway, since ds was 4 I've been pushing for ADHD assessments. I recently found out that the school completely disagree, even though the report for the community Paed consisted of lots of ADHD traits. They think he doesn't have it as he's not climbing the walls all the time.

We've finally had the diagnosis given and I know that school are going to have a negative reaction to it. Other than this they've done everything for him, put lots in place and in general he gets a really good deal.

How do I deal with it. The school are associating his traits as PDA/anxiety related as he's recently had an assessment but I think the ADHD is more prominent and we don't have enough traits for PDA.

Btw ds is on medikinet during the day and melatonin at night and school have said its completely changed him for the better.

Agree with Polter, the dx isn't really important or whether anyone agrees or disagrees. A dx is only as good as the support it brings. Personally I would only worry if not agreeing with the dx was being used to withhold support or meet needs.

Thanks both. I know your right, it's just I have this thing that makes me need people to accept what I'm saying. I know it's not the be all and end all, but I guess as they've bent over backwards for him I want them to keep up the same support for him.
