Weeing in his bedroom

Argh what do I do?? He's been toilet trained for 2.5 years and knows how to go to the toilet. I t is intentional as his pants/PJs/trousers are dry. Last week it was his bedsheets and duvet and box of toys. Today his bed but down the side of the mattress so it got wet (cabin style bed so mattress sits in the bed).

What on earth do I do about that???

Ds has recently started to poo smear, which is unheard of for him.

Is your ds stressed in any way? maybe due to being back at school.

blueeyedmonster · 09/09/2013 20:05

Oh no! Ds used to smear a LOT, we still get 'marks' on the toilet wall now.

It does seem to tie in with going back to school......

Ugh he's just done it again over his duvet and fluffy blanket

Ds does it in his bedroom, I was advised to keep a diary and look for triggers. Ds's trigger is school.

Its what I'm putting this down to also.

Apparently providing more structure is the answer, however that's easier said than done if it relates to school environment!

Also drawing attention to it, can make it worse, so ds smears, I wait for him to be preoccupied and then clean it off, without even mentioning it.

blueeyedmonster · 09/09/2013 20:40

I just thought that very same thing!!!

Yes that is what we do with the smeary marks too. We thank him for being honest (in the end) about ruining his stuff with urine then sort it out sigh.

Initially I tried to get ds to agree to a plan of washing his hands when dirty rather than wiping on the walls (he insists its chocolate!) it made no difference.

Now I take no notice, just clean it, put it down to another phrase that will eventually stop or reduce once settled a bit more in school. Although wiping walls is a bit easier than having to constantly wash/dry duvets etc

I suppose you could try some visuals or reminders stuck to the wall, a no weeing sign in the bedroom maybe?

blueeyedmonster · 09/09/2013 20:58

Ooooh that's a good idea.....we have some for toilet and washing hands. I need to do some more symbols for his timetables, I'll add it onto that.

Might be worth a try and visuals are not giving interaction, just instructions! Good luck, must be such a chore getting everything washed and dried especially as it hasn't stopped raining!

Thank you.

Yes it is a little, we don't have a dryer either!! Good job we have lots of spares.
