Wonder if someone can help me out here.
AS some of you know DS is not at school due to bullying and him not being able to cope due to his AS.

So last month a meeting was arranged with all parties concerned which the headteacher cancelled 2 days before Angry

LEA arranged another one for yesterday but only told me and DH on Thursday of last week and it was too short notice for us, our psych and Parent Partnership.

NHS Psych said to me "i really dont think that we need Parent Partnership there do you?"

Now yesterday our Private Psych emails me to tell me that another meeting has been arranged for 13th of July at 11.45am, LEA have not phoned to check if its ok with us or Parent Partnership and im getting peed off with always being the last to know.

So i have phoned Parent Partnership and told them what has happened and noone has contacted them, they are ringing LEA to find out why.

Am i being a bit too sensitive or am i being right and also why would NHS Psych try to get me to not invite Parent Partnership, i thought she was meant to be impartial.

Thanks

Surely it would be beneficial to have all parties concerned in the one place at the same time as I think I'm right in saying (?) the whole thing has dragged on and on for you and your son. It's surely time for some action and decisions to be made.
Sounds like someone is playing politics here and looks like there's some hidden agenda to me! However the last thing you want is for it to drag on over the summer I presume as it would be good to get something resolved for the new academic year. Just hope you can get everyone you want to be there.

Jenk
After trying to get our son some help, similar probs as yours, for five years I really think they are all there to make it as difficult as possible and as for impartial they don't know the meaning of the word! Anyway good luck

sorry should have explained myself a bit better, the 1st multi agency meeting that was held, me and DH got 2 days advance notice when all other parties had known for over 2 weeks.

The next meeting which was supposed to be yesterday, me and DH were informed Thursday afternoon when all other parties had been told a week before that.

This meeting was arranged on Friday afternoon just gone and its Tuesday and no one has phoned us to ask us if the date is convinient, they know full well that DH has to get time off work and that i have to arrange babysitters so thats what im annoyed at, that they dont consider me and DH important enough to liase with.

Sorry if appears that im ranting i dont mean to!!!

well they have really annoyed me now.

Got a letter yesterday "inviting" us to a multi agency meeting that all interested parties are attending on Thursday 13July at 11.45am.

No phone call asking us if we can make it and the only reason we have a letter is because i complained to Parent Partnership and they phoned LEA to see whats going on.
Our psychologist is going in fact it was him who told us about it last week but we dont get told anything.

Its not very good for keeping the relationship a good one between us and the LEA but from what our psych is saying this is not unusual to expect from an LEA.

oh that's not good. It may be incompetence though. We always seemed to have lots of notice but a number of professionals involved with ds1 moaned to me in the past that they were never told until too late.

Jenk, we got a similar letter in March this year - it was the final straw for me with CAHMS and I sent them packing after that. We've had no input with J since then at all.

It's not good enough. I know it can be hard to arrange multi-agency meetings but how much effort does it take to pick up the phone and ask the parents if it's convenient? My gripe was that they'd done that for us on one occasion then didn't the next. It was just laziness and incompentence IMO.

Good luck with your meeting, anyway.

spoke to my IPSEA rep tonight, when i told her what the LEA have been doing she said "its common practice im afraid, they do it to cause maximum disruption for yourself, ie having to find childminders at the last minute, they know exactly what they are doing"

Its a good job that i complained to PP otherwise i probably wouldnt have known about this meeting until the day before.
