SAT's Monitor + how do we get one on loan

Hi

Long story short we have a DD (4) who has uncontrolled seizures, occurring at night as well as during day. For the last couple of months when she is in hospital her SAT's levels drop /heart rate rises when she is having seizures.
We were thinking for the sake of our mental health that we could get a SAT's monitor on loan for night so as to stop chance of DD going into status epilepticus.

Is this possible on the nhs or does anyone know how we would go about it?

We have asked via email epilepsy nurse but she has ignored request thus far.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Does she have a community nurse?

Ds's paed referred us to the community nurses in our area, and ds has one allocated to him. She visits us periodically and is on call if we need her. She loaned us a sats monitor when ds was going through a period of his sats dipping, and has arranged for a profiling bed to be loaned to us.

I also bought a finger pulse oximeter on amazon, to check ds's sats when he has a bad chest - but as this is just spot checks, probably not suitable for your needs.

I would talk to your dd's paeds, or the children's ward at your local hospital and ask if you can be referred to the community nurses.
