slant boards

Hi, I'm thinking of getting a slant board for reading and writing for ds1 (lots of fine motor and sensory problems, asd) but am a bit overwhelmed by the options and prices :(, also a lot of them look a bit flimsy... does anybody have any recommendations? thanks in advance

Hi Jomaman!

We got junior slant boards from posturite.co.uk and would definitely recommend them :-)

We actually use an ikea laptop holder, which was about £3 and works just as well as a slant board.

thanks both of you.
It might be a stupid question but how do you stop it from sliding all over the table? I can just imagine ds slumping over it and pushing it off the table, or can you fix them in place?

Hi Jomaman, the slant board can't be fixed in place but it has rubber bits on the bottom so never slips. Plus the lower end fits over the edge of the table. It's really sturdy plastic and as the kids lean over the board to write this pushes the 'overhang' down so it never moves.
