Do you know of any books for social skills delay?

We're waiting for a CAHMS referral. It's taking months Sad so I'd like to do something to help in the mean time. He does a couple of extra curricular things but he likes the comforts of home, he also isn't sporty as he has hypotonia in his hands and feet so finds it painful. He's due to see a new physio in September. His new class is full of the boys who've been trying to hit him for the past year (he finds them immature which doesn't help) as they are grouped by GCSE choices so I could do with something to guide him through IYSWIM. He doesn't have enough traits for the paediatrician to diagnose Aspergers so she's said it's a social skills delay. Is there anything that I can do to help him? Any books that will help?

Cake Thank you.

Ha! Looks good. Grin I've just ordered him this www.amazon.co.uk/Raise-Your-Childs-Social-IQ/dp/0966036689/ref=pd_ybh_4 but there's so many and I've no idea where to start or whether it will work. He's OK with adults (most of the time).

I've just ordered that for him. He's in denial that there's a problem though so is only happy to read it as he thinks that it's to help me with 'my problem' Wink

The 'Liam' Books by Jane Whelen Banks, such as 'Liam Says Hi' - Learning to Greet a Friend is good and suggested by SALT / OT for my 6 year old with ASD. x
