Best school shoes for DD with dyspraxia and hypermobility?

I need to buy DD her first pair of school shoes (sob) and as you can imagine they need to be sturdy with good ankle support (to stop her falling over and to give her hypermobile joints support) and be easy to put on and take off (so velcro rather than buckle) to give her a fighting chance at being independent.

I have already discounted clarks. Does anyone have any recommendations? I had thought startrite or kickers?

Thanks

We like ricosta, they are not cheap but they are sturdy and well made. Dd3 is hypermobile and has Asd, her balance and co ordination is not the best.

We have never had clarks for her they are far too deep for her flat feet (I dont like them anyway). The boys clarks are better for our children but I was always wary of teasing.

Ecco used to make amazing school shoes but I dont know if they still do. We had Startrite last year for one term but they didnt last well Sad

Good luck whatever you decide, shoe shopping is one of my pet hates Hmm

Dd always has start-rite from Russel and Bromley because they fit them properly! She does have insoles though to help counteract her hypermobile ankle joints.

Yes meant to say Dd3 has orthotic insoles too.

If you could get kickers with velcro I am sure they would be fab Smile

My ds1 has elements of hypermobility and flat feet and our physio suggested geox brand shoes, she said she couldn't endorse a particular brand but alot her clients found them great. I haven't bought them yet, but thought I would mention it!

My son is 8 and suffers from dyspraxia, he can't seem to walk more than half an hour before he's in pain. Me and my partner are struggling to find a pair of shoes/trainers that will help him.

Any support will be appreciated.
