It's still not sunk in yet but I found out last week the statement for my son has been agreedGrin. A big thank you to all who have offered advice on here! Thanks
It's basic funding but i think it's all he needs because he is in mainstream secondary school which he wants to stay at he and doesn't want lots of attention drawing to him as he is afraid of being bullied again. He doesn't need 1to1 and that would be way beyond a basic statement budget but possibly a mentor who can help with organising homework problems etc. He will need to do his work on a computer due to writing difficulties.
The important things are covered which is good. My difficulty is making it work in a school that's living in the dark ages and so provide very little pastoral care. They were reluctant to help sadly even when he was suffering with bad anxiety and unable to attend. I know they would rather we left but he would not cope with another change and insists he wants to stay.
What did you do next after getting your statement?
How did you make your statement work in reality?
Any advice or experiences that might help me try and make it work for him would be great thanks.
