My son is 4 and has moderate developmental delays. I'm pleased with the intervention he has received from SALT, paed, etc and the school he is starting in Sept seems to be great. it's not something that constantly worries me, he can be a handful but he is generally a happy, busy and very characterful little boy. However I do sometimes feel a little lost especially when I'm not being kept busy by him. There seems so very little on the web about dev delay. For other sn there are case studies and parents perspectives. I also think that some of his abilities don't quite fit in with the 'general' bit of the developmental delay. For example, if he is functioning at the level of a two year old and has quite an extended vocab now of probably 300 words and is using 3 word sentences does he still get animal noises wrong, can't say his sisters or his own name and will answer 4 if you ask him his name. Is there anyone out there with experience of this?
