I feel like a newsreader on the tv who spends ages reporting on negative stories and then the last item is the light hearted good news :)
I rang dwp today to tell them about the potential ADHD diagnosis thinking they should have the full story, but it turns out that they have already made the decision, amazingly quick as it only went in on the 29th July, and it is more than I thought we would get so I am very pleased with that!
Hooray! I feel really good that the difficulties we face have been recognised, it's almost as important as the money (although I do appreciate the money very much).
It makes me feel like we will have a very good chance of getting a statement and totally inspires me to get the paperwork organised.

Hee hee! I used my "stick" yesterday at salt.

If ds has no sen needs then how comes he is on ISP and four of the six targets are speech related? ( he failed to reach two targets)
How comes he sees you, ot, ent, pead?
(Gets the stick out) how comes he gets dla?

Stunned silence meet wit silence

I love my beating stick

I mean a iep ( school action plus)

All this does not mean he has sen needs, we just feel he likes the extra attention and trips to various hospitals every few weeks. I'm being to feel at home in those magnolia corridors

Yay! Wine Grin

My form was received on 27th July and had the letter today to say may contact GP, someone who looks after child etc.
As my GP referral didn't get my appointment with Camhs, my email to them did, I rang today to say did they want my email.
He was keeping stum saying not really and then accidently let slip they had sent request for more information. (assuming school and GP?)

At least I now know it's not a straight no!

Spoke to my PP support worker today who asked if I have applied for DLA?

Just need the DWP to agree now!

2boys, love that. Grin
My ds doesn't even have an IEP yet (they are working on it over the hols) even though he has been on school action plus since jan (that is when ed psych first went in to observe).
I had tons of other evidence though including a massive diagnostic report and the school end of year report where teacher says several times that they still need more support and advice to help ds.
But what really matters I think is detailing exactly how much time you spend with extra looking after- the cerebra guide is fantastic.

I've just had a letter saying they have written to GP. Slightly worried as their referral was so crap I had to email Camhs myself.
They'd have been better off contacting the school as they know DS better.
Oh well at least if they say no I can tell them to contact school and then reconsider!

I did use the cerebra guide and was surprised myself how much time I spend a day extra looking after - most 9yos are fully independent.
