Just a quick one portage worker came round today and dd14 was at home as her school had broken up . She commented about the patronising tone said worker used with dd2 . I told her about caring carrots which she found hilarious

Can you explain it to me?Blush
I get that's it what we call the useless generalist info that idiots professionals give us, but is there more to it?

autumnsmum · 25/07/2013 19:06

It was the way she spoke to dd2 everything was overemphasised and said really really slowwwwwwly

The original 'caring carrot' was a professional who explained in great patronising detail how to make carrot batons rather than just discs, as this would help with a child's language disorder, of course! Confused Not to me, but to one of the other geese on MNSN.

Frizzcat you've got it perfectly

Cheers Ellen - I knew there was an original story to it some where - had just never heard it.

I wonder if I could get in touch with that professional, as I find my batons are uneven and some are even a bit triangle shape!

Am I failing my child with my lack of perfect batons?
Do you think I need a parenting course? Perhaps I need to report myself to SS?

EllenJanesthickerknickers · 26/07/2013 14:17

Grin Sorry, but if your batons are triangular, there's no hope for you and any course would be a waste of everyone's time.

Perhaps you should stick to celery? There's a great course on celery available which I'm sure you would find very useful.

What? Your DC doesn't like celery? I'm afraid that that's all that's on offer. Wink

Itwas funny that my elder daughter noticed the special voice that the portage worker used with dd2 . Being at school dd2 normally misses all the professionals dd2 has to see
