Just writing it down really. We were last there in December last year.

He just listened to what I had to say and from this he is going to strongly support her need for a statement.
He is going to refer her to the child and family team (CAHMS I think) for her trouble with attention and concentration. He mentioned ADD which no one has done before. Does anyone have any good information I can look at about this? I have done a quick search.

He going to refer her for genetic testing which again no one has done before.

I feel OK - but as always after these things a little shaky and DD hated it and really seems to get that we are talking about her and just wanted to go home.

Not the best start to the summer holidays. It's daft - it's not like anything was said or raised that I didn't know before, but it still leaves me feeling deflated and down.

DD is 4.8.

Hi there.

I sympathise as we had my DD's ASD assessment at the CDC on Monday and these things are never easy.

When we were referred for the ASD assessment, we also saw a geneticist. I was worried at first but I think it is sensible to have as many people check things out as possible. They just took some bloods and then we had a follow up appointment - nothinng showed up then they did some further tests for Fragile X and Angelman which were also negative. (Obv I spent ages googling these and worrying.)

From the genetics side, there was therefore nothing that explained anything but they did ask us to join the DDD project (deciphering developmental delays) where they do some further checks (based on saliva from DD, me and DH). Apparantly some people do get a diagnosis or further information from that.

Hope that helps.
