sensory issues in outdoor space

Inspired by another thread.

I think my 6 year old DS is undersensitive to touch and oversensitive to noise. He has quite good friends in his class. A classic scenario is that we go to the park with everyone after school and he starts off fine but ends up spinning round and bumping into people on purpose - or karate kicking, which I think is because it is too noisy and the space feels too big. It could also be the stress of being sociable, but my instinct is that it is sensory

Obviously I take him home at that point but it is difficult as he really needs physical exercise and is good at playing with other children until he gets overwhelmed.

Any ideas?

Yes I know someone who has had great success with a back pack as well. She fills it with her sons toy cars and metal trains. He can then play with them when they get to wherever they are going!!

Double bonus he is much more grounded and occupied at the same time Grin

Thank you. He has a couple of rucksacks, I will check out which is most comfy for him.
