The PATH meeting went ahead without me as ds refused to allow me to attend. Dh told ds he wouldn't attend either because he would not condone excluding me (even that didn't make him reconsider)
His teacher phoned earlier and said it went well but we'll speak when I'm not so emotional. Ds said afterwards that he made a mistake and I should have been there and apologised unprompted when he got home which is something I suppose.
I've got a splitting headache and so have sent ds to his room and told him I will look at the folder over the weekend (I'm not ready to talk about it) School are going to work with ds to get him to communicate with me as he doesn't speak to or in front of me at home. Hopefully it will get better.
Ironically even though ds doesn't acknowledge me he has come up with a list of tasks for me to make his life better Hmm great isn't it?

He's probably at the emotional age of a 14 year old with the responsibility of an adult.

This could just be a maturity phase.

There aren't any right answers. Just navigate the best you can and hope for a new dawn.

I agree with starlight both my Dd's with Asd have delayed emotional/social abilities despite being very intelligent. Dd1 simply couldnt cope with difficult situations at 18 and yet was adamant that she was an adult.

Dd3 as yet cant make decisions about what coloured sweet to eat next never mind anything important.

I think you will get through this and of course you will always come back for more because it what we do !!

Think about it Your Ds apologised to you Shock
Without you telling him toShockShock

That has to be progress!

Stay strong and good luck Smile

Yes I'm impressed about the apology although the fact he's stropped because I won't speak to him about the meeting today has taken the shine off a bit Hmm Mind you he's currently sulking which I actually enjoy because he sits in his room in silence refusing to engage Grin will probably let him sulk all night tbh Wink
I'm not quite sure he's hit the fourteen mark yet more a nine year old who has aspirations to be 18 Wink
It will be ok eventually I think, if nothing else I have avoided the caring carrots from the Connexions woman who offers bunches of them rather than delivering any sort of service and then is affronted when I write on my contribution that she has given no input since she was assigned over two years ago.
