OT for sensory today and possible diagnosis tomorrow

Busy week for us.

OT talk was pretty rambling and unhelpful, but it is the precursor to an individual assessment. Tonight, after the now normal physio for tiptoe walking, we tried a few activities for proprioception integration and my son just LIT UP and then CHILLED OUT. I think it will help him. Grin.

And talking to paed tomorrow and will probably have a diagnosis (or not, as the case may be). Am sure I will need a big Brew after but better to get it done.

Have been going round the houses with this all for so many years and it is all coming at once.

Have not applied for DLA as I just could not face the form, and also because I didn't know how much OT we would have to do. Will revisit that after individual assessment.

And I've just found out I almost certainly don't have a degenerative disabling condition so life is looking better than a few months the ago.

Thanks!

It was funny, I got the big ball out of the loft and he just started happily rolling around on it, and then I said, 'I'd like to try something else.' And he said, 'Will you roll it over me?' Shock I would never have thought of that if they hadn't suggested it in the talk today. He loved it.

No diagnosis today...well, he decided to say Social Communication Difficulties. The paed said he is a borderline ASD case and with some intervention this year things may improve markedly. So he will write to the school recommending additional support in social communication and transition and basically say that it will be helpful to treat him as if he ASD, I think.

I'm okay with this. We are seeing him again in 9 months and will revisit then. And I will be following up with the school.
