Dd is finishing YR and we received a report which relates mainly to her objectives set in her statement. however, there is nothing about the levels she is working at (P levels or so).

It is her first year at school, so not quite sure what to expect. is this the norm?

Is this in a MS school? My understanding is that EYFS levels would be reported for all DC, not just those with SEN. I thought p levels started from Y1 if a DC wasn't getting on to NC levels.

If MS school, ask on the primary ed board, lots of teachers there. :-)

Some schools do give levels in reports and some don't. I think you could ask if your Dd has been assessed and what the outcomes were.

P Levels aren't relevant for Yr R. They should have assessed her according to the Foundation Profile.

she is in MS but statemented. I guess she is working below her peers.

The first stage of the EYFS is for 0-11 months!! They should be using that to assess her. It goes up in stages eg. 0-11months, 8-20 mnths, 16-24mnths etc. There is lots of overlap to allow for different developmental rates.

I would go and ask :-)

DS had EYFS and P scales (PIVATS). We did start PIVATS at end of reception as EYFS was too vague
To be honest neither were very useful and the most useful tool has been the ABA IEPs
If you look up EYFS and P scales you can probably do them yourself I find mine far more accurate than anything school has come up with

I agree agnes Where I work we actually use the trackers from another LA because they are better than ours. You can get them via google if you search EYFS tracker or development profile.

The only problem with completing it yourself is that many children perform differently in different settings so what you see at home might be different to what they see at school.

Good luck Smile
