is it normal for SALT and OT not be to present at AR nor do hand in a report?

that is it.

OT went on long term sick leave and SALT left and no replacement has been hired (funding issues I have been told).

How do the pen pushers in the LA decide what provision is appropriate?

No its not normal

Does the statement actually say SALT and OT need to attend and report? If so it has to happen.

You should be asking for the LA to immediately agree to fund private SALT and OT on the basis the NHS is unable to provide what is in the statement and the duty falls back on them

You need to make a formal complaint to the LA through its official complaint procedure as well as raising it at annual review

The LA can only change the statement on the basis of evidence. If there is no evidence they cannot change the SALT and OT provision (which doesn't mean they wont try!)

DD has SALT/OT via statement.

I made a din and a SALT and OT will see DD at the beginning of July after the AR. But these are not people who worked with her before and are only sent in to honor the statement iyswim.

statement does not mention SALT and OT report for the AR.

How about class teacher and 1-1 not attending(as I had this morning at my sons AR)!

Many s/lts will have well over 100 kids on their caseload.
If they go to every AR they will probably not have time to do much else.
Many people base their entire career around attending meetings and making official sounding noises.
Others rarely attend meetings because they are busy in the classroom, with the kids.

Before you proceed further, think this one over. Smile

I'm sorry but an AR of a statement is the one meeting they should find time to get their arses too.

We're all busy. I don't know why the public sector thinks it has a monopoly on this - people are quick enough to slate teachers.

There is too much 'it's not my problem, it's the LAs and anyway I'm too busy' shrug shoulders, leave child in lurch going on.

Who are the children who are getting all the attention anyway? No one is to be honest. Just time spent running around doling out crap through TAs they can't be arsed to train and never meeting or working with the child directly.

If you have SLT on your statement and it is not being delivered, see a lawyer, get legal aid and JR them. Don't bother with complaints or the LGO. You'll get nowhere.

They'd get their arses to meetings quick enough if someone was paying them privately I tell you.
