And there seems to be a large crossover with the areas of the brain and neurotransmitters involved with ADHD - also not a surprise.

ds definitely doesn't like the sound of the human voice as he tells us to stop talking all the time

I suppose you can consider who benefits from your talking to our ds's.

Usually it isn't them. We're asking questions for our benefit, dictating for our benefit etc.

Now if the majority of our communication was 'would you like some chocolate?', 'there are some bananas in the bottom of the fridge' then that might be different.
