Just that really. It has been suggested we look at it. Not sure whether it has sufficient expertise though

Do you mean More house (a girls school in London) or Moor House the specialist S&L school in Oxted Surrey? I have students from the latter in my class accessing mainstream fe. The school's website states they are "at the forefront of research, development and practice in the education of children with communication disorders" so I assume as you are querying their expertise you must mean the girls school in London?

Neither school actually! More House in Frensham. Just seemed to be more a dyslexia school and I have a complicated Aspie.

Not so much questioning their expertise to deal with their client group as capacity to deal with my son!

Go and have alook around. I have known Aspies go there and do well, but it depends on needs etc.

Thanks. I will contact them

My son got a place there as of September.

I had tears when I saw what is on offer.

Depends what you mean with complicated aspie. They have OT, Speech & Language onsite. Small class sizes. Very calm place.

They do not accept behaviourally/emotionally challenged children.

My son has autism spectrum disorder, dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia etc...

I would suggest you contact them as they definitely cater to ASD. It is the only school in the region that could cater to my son's various needs.

Thanks. That is helpful. He is not behaviourally challenged but he is vulnerable and needs support with communicatiin and sensory needs etc

Then that is the school for you.

Good luck.

That's very positive! Thanks.

I would unreservedly commend the school for any child with this type of profile.

Well, I sent my son's statement to the school and they didn't want to know. Rejected it immediately.

I suspect, like most SpLD schools, they are more the mild dyspraxia, bit of dyslexia type rather than proper Asperger aware.

I had heard the couple who run it are not too keen on parental involvement either.

Inappropriatelyemployed, I read your replies on the other thread, I don't know what to say and I can't understand their one line rejection email.

I'm sorry you did not even get to see their school. How odd.
