Has anyone tried this? Is it mostly just massage or is there more too it?
Thinking about giving it a go.

Do you mean normal osteopath or cranial osteopath?

Neither is massage. Normal osteopath fixed my excruciating sore shoulder and DSs rugby injury.

Cranial osteopath is something else totally. It looks like he does nothing. But DS said it made his brain feel less squished. He had about 5 sessions when he was 10, then the osteopath said he was finished.

we just want back last week as DS asked to. Osteopath said this is quite common to come back every coule of years while you were growing.

DS just said (out of the blue) 'can I go back to the cranial osteopath cause my head feels like it used to'

We only needed one session. And only need to go back if DS asks to.

Money well spent.

Thanks so much, yes I guess I do mean cranial I guess. I didn't know if there was more to it than that. I will definitely give it a try.

My son loves craniosascral osteopathy and visibly benefits from it. But then I have also had great results from homeopathy...not a cure, obviously, but taking the edge off anxiety and controlling behaviour.

I have considered cranial osteopathy for ds. He sometimes complains of head/neck ache and I wonder if the very long very slow labour I had with him might be somehow linked. After 26 hours of strong contractions I wasn't even officially in labour ie not 4cm dilated, but 30 mins after that examination he was delivered!
What effects exactly do you see in your dc?

We are just starting CST for DGS who has CP. so it's interesting that other children have benefitted.

Cranial osteopathy looks like wooo but works. Do it!

Ds had cranial osteopathy when he was a baby. He had an odd-shaped head, an arm that he couldn't stretch out properly, and screamed every time he was put down (I'm convinced he did some damage to his neck and shoulder during birth).
As others have said you could barely see that the osteopath was doing anything but the problems were resolved. I enjoyed the sessions too. Half an hour of silence was blissful enough but ds would sleep peacefully for hours afterwards too!

My daughter had cranial osteopathy and there is anecdotal evidence that it can help glue ear which was the main reason she was having it. We have stopped it now because she still had glue ear and had too many appointments at once.

It's non invasive so I would say try it.
