Do LA's really appeal tribunal decisions

Just got a letter from solicitor about our tribunal decision and it mentions that the LA can appeal the tribunal decision! Ahhh. I have never heard of that on here before. Does it really happen? Just when I thought it was all over!

Unlikely unless there are clear grounds. SOS SEN have guidance here

Herts tends to appeal all ABA decisions. Often they are told to sod off and the appeal doesn't stand but they still do it just in case.

It's to send a message to parents that even if they win, it could cost them shed loads more in defending their appeal.

That's disgraceful. It's bully-boy tactics. Angry

Thanks it is interesting to know. But very worrying. I don't think our decision will be appealed as it was a small win. I think they will wait for annual review.

TBH Cheese I think at the moment LA's are struggling with the changes and what they mean, that I think they are putting their energy into avoiding new cases (as those are easier wins as the parents have a bigger mountain to climb and are less experienced) rather than focus on the children who already have provision.

I think transition times rather than annual reviews are the times to watch, if at all.
