my dd has never been dry at night
she has SN although presents pretty well if you dont know her
she struggles with any change so has always refused pull ups
she is big for her age and i am finding it hard to get nappies to fit her
I am using pampers size 6 and they are at the end of their stretch

You should be able to get free nappies through your health professionals, maybe health visitor, school nurse or GP. They go upto adult sizes.

You should really have been told Confused

I have heard that in some areas, they won't give you nappies if your child only needs them at night - not sure how widespread that is though. If you cant get them through the NHS, you will probably have to move up into the products designed for adults. They do start in small sizes. It is sometimes possible to get a couple of samples from the companies concerned and the waist measurements are on their websites to give you an idea of size. I'm sure others can suggest brand names for you to google - but for starters, DD uses Attends and used to use Euron. Most disability retailers stock continence products but they are usually called "all-in one slips" rather than nappies. Amazon sell some products too.

you wouldn't get them free here for night time only but worth a try! My dd3 used to have libero (by tena) in a size 7, mught be worth trying to get some samples as bbb says

DS2 is 7 and gets attends through our local PCT. Only 4 a day, mind, but he's willing to alternate them with pyjama pants.

The biggest huggies are a little bigger than the biggest pampers, btw, if you're struggling.

These are the ones that DS2 gets

Huggies are out of business. You may still be able to get them in some places. I was completely shocked when I found out, but apparently it has been common knowledge for months!! DD is 5, almost 6 and wears Huggies size 6, but we are really struggling to find them now. We have never been told about the free nappies either!!

libero size 7 are big, they are one of the standard nappy brands in shops here (I guess scandinavian children are big because even my local middle of nowhere shop stocks size 7).

boobybum · 29/05/2013 13:11

We order the Libero pull ups and also standard nappies from Tenadirect. They always arrive very quickly. We requested a few samples before we placed an order to make sure we were getting the correct size. They are very good nappies and they seem much softer and more comfortable than pampers/huggies.

Both my kids are in Dry Nites, available at most supermarkets. They seem to be able to handle big wees!

Try the girls 8-16 yr old size, maybe?

ouryve · 30/05/2013 21:25

Never noticed that about Huggies. Probably because we haven't bought any since last summer. Just to add, the libero size 7 are big, but DS1, who had them, grew out of them when he was 7. The size S Attends I linked to are actually a size up from what DS2's in, but the XS are becoming too small for him and tight around his thighs - and he can now get them off because they don't fasten very well!

ouryve · 30/05/2013 21:25

I should add - they don''t fasten very well because they don't fit him anymore. They were brilliant during last year's stripping phase :o

Trigglesx · 01/06/2013 08:29

DS2 is in DryNites as well, although they are pullups. We used to get them in the supermarket (and stock up when they were on sale!), but thanks to some advice from this board, we now get them through Amazon. They're on subscription, delivered (free) once a month for a very reasonable price (cheaper than regular price at supermarket).

We were told that NHS locally doesn't provide nappies if it's just nighttime.

Good God, that could save us a fortune, thank you!
