Its never going to end, everytime I think, right well thats that done, now I can sit back and forget about reports and asessments and concentrate on the good things, and it happens, someone else wants to know all about him... We've had an appointment through for a Special Educational Needs Medical, as part of the statutory assessment... Does anyone know what this is going to entail? Should I dig out my book and make the list of all the info they'll probably ask, or will it just be a measure and weigh him type affair, some pointles formality where a dr who has no idea about my son and won't really be able to say more then 'appears healthy'and mother says..blahdy blah blah[{ i may actually say that, se what reaction I get..]

I'm just sick ot the back teeth of recounting how awful he's been for the sake of getting him some kind of help...

No experience of the medical, but just sneding support as the list IS endless!

I wrote a letter that school were supposed to forward to all the professionals dealing with Sam, and at the end I put how painful it was to write, I made it generic so i could print off as needed. It was a horrid experience but I suppose if I update it , then it's just there isn't it? Could you try that?

REALLY hoping you'll get some answers soon!!

oh it's boring. Dr asked ds1 to draw for him- think he'd slightly misunderstood the severity of ds1's condition- eventually managed to force a few scribbles. He spoke to ds1 at super fast normal speed (so obviously ds1 ignored him) think he tried to weigh him etc but didn't get very far.

annual review medical now takes place in school thankfully with a lovely paed- another plus of special schools ;)

Peachy, its not so much answers we want, he's got a DX, its just some frigging support for him whilst hes in preschool and wherever he moves to after that...

Maybe I'll just take a printout of my 'what my sons special needs are' and a photocopy of his diagnosis report from last year, else I'll just go in on auto pilot, run it all off for them.

Draw pictures? hmm thats interesting given he's developmentally just under 2 years old... oh and weigh him, measure his height, comment on his pale skin and how you can barely see his nipples [like I might have not obsessed over that for 3 years, 9 months 2 weeks and 5 days by then!, seriously he has all the colour of a ghost]then at the end I'll have to pull eliha away so he doesn't insist on kissing everyone.. thats one of his rituals now, he has to kiss people before we can leave [he leant in to the bus driver again todayGrin ] will there be jigsaws and threading beads? he likes them...

Given the roads and distance we'll ahve ot cover he'll be going wild [as in feral!] in his pushchair and be really hacked off for them, and woudln't it be a shame if they assess him on a bad day?
