Proposed statements but no hours stated

Hi, my twins with aspergers diagnoses have received draft statements that no longer state how many hours support they should be entitled to. The council say it is down to school now to allocate the appropriate level of support. I am uncomfortable with this as I worry it will be difficult to monitor what the support the school is giving. Is anyone else in the same situation?

'I am uncomfortable with this as I worry it will be difficult to monitor what the support the school is giving.'

How would you monitor what support the school was giving if you had a statement?

Statements must still be quantified and specified, that hasn't changed. The only difference is that in Special schools the structure tends to be different, so children aren't allocated 1:1 support unless they are a risk to themselves or others.

How old are your twins?

does that mean that SEN schools DON'T offer 1:1 support?

Some do. It can depend on the needs of the child, how many in a class and the child-adult ratio.
