Hi,
If a child has completed 60% of P6, are they working within P6 or still at P5?
Silly question but I am confused about how the school are doing things.

If anyone can help I would be grateful

They are working on P6

P6 has lots of mini targets within it - maybe 20 - so they are basically saying he has ticked off over half, 40% still to go.

I actually got hold of a P scales document once, so I could help DS work on them at home

Otherwise it is all so shrouded in secrecy

I have all the b-squared stuff.
e.g 63% of number P7 and 42% of Level 1
The school have written down that she is a P6
I think this is a little unfair. Am I being over sensitive or should she be written down as P7/L1?

But she could be P6 on one thing, P7 on another, P8 on another

So they shouldn't really give one single overall score

Or am I missing the point?

I did find that they were very picky about not moving him off , say, p6 until he'd ticked 100% of the boxes!

I think though sometimes they did use the phrase

"Working across P7 and 1A"

Maybe you should suggest that?

I agree with the school's assessment on this one - if the child in question was assessed at that point in time, they would meet all the criteria for P6 so 'achieved' but they would not meet 37% of P7 and 58% of L1, so 'not achieved'.
